Marriage

maybe we've grown old
but our gait is still young
as young is my love
for you
I feel the bond
between your name
and my name
in which bond
any godly construction
weakens beneath the heaviness
of our feelings
not those who've been
not those who are to come
just of those we are born with
you facing me
I facing God
and God facing light

how else to tell you
how much I can love you
bride of the blood which flows through my fingers
