Mask, 02/18/19

By Liphi

everyday's a masquerade
dazzling like a parade,
an actor of many faces,
playing on the stage,
travelling to many places
I leave no trace.

I wear a mask, as long as I can remember
behind a mask, a face and a story.
an untold tale of grief and glory,
like puppet dolls I used to love and tender,
I’ve forgotten who I am under.

as uncanny as wraith,
a shadow, I can’t speak my color.
veils are gifts of honor,
the line of truth and falsehood
would show my real root.

Everyone wears their masks. Good people and bad also keeps their shadows to live.
