Masks

We all wear masks that cover up ourselves,
Why would we want to show who we truly are when all we receive is judgment,
So up go the masks,
Day in,
Day out,
A new mask goes up for every emotion,
Every situation,
But just because they aren’t visible,
Doesn’t mean they don’t exist,
We wear them inside our hearts to cover up the mess,
Why can’t we just take it off,
Why can’t we just stop,
We’re stuck in a loop-hole,
And the lies were spread,
Why stop now when we’re so far ahead,
we are winning,
Winning at this game of hide and seek,
We hide our emotions where no-one can find,
So we keep the masks up,
Keep up the charade,
Until someone finally wins the game.
