Masks, masks. What, what?
There are masks.
Social distance and sanitize
A mask covers mouths not eyes.
Empty shelves and pandemic fear
Instead of going out, spend time
With those who are dear.

Many get to work from home
yet I clock in and normalize.
Supermarket worker, smiling behind the mask.
Doing what needs to be done.

Everything changed yet the same.
Instead of fear, I choose compassion.
Love is essential too.
Soon the day will come when we all unmask
And embrace each other once more.
