Mass Desolation

A screaming echoes across the sky
Vibrations of the sound seem to rattle
Everything below the atmosphere
All creatures feeling its energy

The sun setting below the horizon casts brilliant shades of
Citrus orange, soft coral and deep violet
On the cloud trails it leaves behind

Traveling at unbelievable speeds, death is almost upon them
Everyone is in disbelief that their end has finally come
Closer and closer evermore, the air splitting sound crescendos

All eyes are fixed up above, in awe of its beauty,
Its shock of the reality and petrified by fear

A moment before the devastation, the scene depicts beloved children
Clutched in their parents' arms, lovers embracing
And tears dripping down the cheeks of close friends

In an explosion of incredible heat and blinding light,
The place that once was, is no longer
Down in history, the town will not be remembered for their
Local football team, the dainty shops downtown or the charming people

Instead, it will be known for the missile
