Match, Captain, Adventurer

Come tell me your sorrows.
Please share with me your pain.
The world will keep on turning,
And you will live again.

Though the days be dreary
And nights be spent awake,
That spark that lies within you-
A fire it will make.
However long the storm,
No matter how it lasts,
All hands aboard the vessel
Stand ready at the masts.
Venture through the jungle,
Find shelter, call it home.
Build for yourself a family;
No longer shall you roam.
Earth indeed has mountains
And crests that you must seek.
Keep climbing, never look down,
And you will reach the peak.

Lock up all your sorrows;
The pain will cease to strive.
Match, captain, adventurer,
You're in control, alive.

This Poems Story

I am a student athlete at George Mason University, and I have been very passionate about writing ever since I was young girl. I wrote "Match, Captain, Adventurer" because I believe that through all the hardships and struggles in the world today, it is important to stay in control of your own life. Be the match that ignites the spark in your life. Be the captain that steers his own path. Be the adventurer that never stops searching for meaning.
