I am so drawn to you
because we've only ever held hands by our fingertips ,
and I've never really liked things uncompleted.

I should stretch out my fingers so far
that the bones break,
seeking the love from the tiny creases in your thumbs

But maybe
I should have learned long ago
that the answers do not lie within
the creases in your thumbs
or the way you hold my hand.

the answers lie within the way you hold hers instead.
