Meager Survival

Movies tell me
I should be spending my saturdays
At loud parties
Drinking myself into bad decisions
Books tell me
To go on an adventure
Find something new
Music tells me
To be broken
And that it’s okay
Television shows tell me
I need to be prettier
Get a makeover
You tell me
I’ll never experience any of these

No one likes you
Who would invite you
You’re not good enough

You're a coward
You wouldn't survive
You’re not good enough

Fix yourself
No one likes a broken girl
You’re not good enough

Even an artist couldn't make you
Pretty enough

Never enough
Why am I never enough?
