Caramel coated canvas ,
My fingers long to paint you ,
Dipped in the reds greens & blues ,
Drawn together ,
The tips of my fingers ,
Coloring you with everything that is me ,
My fine bold lines ,
My mesmerizing hues ,
Splish splash all over you ,
Your crisp fine brown ,
Warm to my touch ,
Brain overloaded with colorful dots ,
You stare blankly ,
Meaningless suspended in time ,
For I am nothing without you ,
Certainly the paper is blank without the stroke of a wet ink ,
Wet ink longs to stroke against that fragile paper ,
Oh so sure the canvas is bare without the glow of paint ,
Oh how the paint carves to be there ,
For there is no me without you ,
No you without me ,
Just 2 meaningless things suspended in time longing for one another .
