Meant to Be

But now we're nothing, not meant to be.
When night dawns and day breaks,
Thoughts of you shall make my soul quake.
I was young, but now I see,
You never could have truly loved me.
So many times I went against my voice,
I took you back, I made the choice.
You would beg until my walls fell down,
You could always turn my mind around.
You're not mine, I get it now.
Could I have known, seen it somehow?
But my eyes were bound so tight by love's blindfold,
Only seeing would break the hold.
I don't regret what was between us,
But you've made it impossible for me to trust.
For all the world to see,
You carved your mark straight into me.
Now I wander so helplessly,
Alone forever- not meant to be.
