Meanwhile

Meanwhile
Subatomic gelatinous creatures
swim in amniotic, oceanic streams,
flip flippantly fluid in
splashing flip dripping fins flippers gills,
till the cowfish moo-moo, udder, and
shudder under shutters of watery windows
all the way to pappy's happy home.

Meanwhile
Gargantuan, gimlet-eyed lizards
poke long spiny noses through water-thin
cheesecloth fabric webs,
smoke spiky balls of poisonous skin, and
choke on felicitous fumes of marigold cigarettes,
designed to line your paupers' pockets with
sheets of scrapping slapping feet.

Meanwhile
The satisfied customer of a frozen custard palace
licks the last laps off the cap-tops
of spherical spiral cream-puff pies,
arises, eyes' irises alive with
post-digestive pleasure, and,
checking his zipper,
exits the door, dapper,
and is gone.
