Melodies

There was a girl
With stars in her eyes
But scars on the insides of her thighs
She said "I know a lullaby"
It was named death
Sleep came to her in the form of that same tune
It cradled her and rocked her over the edge of the cliff she was halted at
It sang to her, "choose. Jump to the other side, or fall into my arms forever."
She dove downward into the darkness, life calling down to her from across the cliff.
But death claimed her that day.
She slept forever.
And no one knew of the scars on the insides of her thighs
But they knew of the stars in her eyes.
On her tombstone, they wrote her lullaby.

And no one knew of the scars on the insides of her thighs
But they knew of the stars in her eyes.
