the love song hangs unspoken, there for you
to steal from my lips as you stole my heart.
and now there’s nothing that I would not do:
I’d barter, kill, and for your love I’d starve.
what once was dull is now all that I want;
I need your warmth, your anger, and your light.
but everything for which I thirst is gone,
for there she stands in purest of pure white.
I turn around and swiftly walk away;
the dark enfolds me under steely wings.
I execute my dreams; the music fades.
in limbo and in empty streets I see
the lantern’s shadows mourn what could have been...
they dance for our love in memoriam.
