Memories

Trees,
Uprooted by giants,
Dipped in buckets
Of yellow and red
And re-planted
Overnight.

Drying,
Flakes of color
Blown away and apart,
Leaving the trees
And me with nothing

But
Memories,
Precise and bitter,
Like the definition of 'invisible'
Given by a plain woman
Or a short man.
