What was I going to say
About the memories of my past
Was it pleasant and delightful
Or offensive and pitiful?
Was I happy? Was it worth it?
All the sad and bad
Could life have been kinder?
Should I have been more glad?
Would I do it over
If I really could?
Perhaps I'd live grander
Perhaps I'd be more good
Regardless of what was or wasn't
In the end they're mine to keep
Not much I can do or discover
With these old memories
But I feel a deep regret
A mourning when I dream
Of how one love tossed me
Fiercely to the wind
Where now I spin and spin
Remembering my memories
Over and over and over again
