Memories of a Healed Heart

Some day many years from the last we spoke
think back to every sunset and sunrise,
to every glistening sparkle in your eyes
that with my eternal love, I awoke.
How kisses were only separated
by whispers that foretold our shared desires,
but now we see what true love requires-
something that was way too complicated.
Tears were shed from seas of brown and of blue,
but none so powerful as those inside;
a heart weeping from the liar who had lied
is too far healed to feel regret of losing you.
