Memories of You
Many times have I said your name hoping somehow you'd appear.
But as I lie awake at night, the pain is always there.
You left this world much too soon, life without you isn't the same.
I miss the days when you were loud and very hard to tame.
Most days drone on all boring and dull without your dazzling spark.
You had a way of looking at life, so beautiful and very true.
But when I look at my life the only thing I see missing is you.
When I had no mother you took me in without hesitation.
You watched me grow and bloom, you took me under your wing.
And now that you have passed away nothing is the same.
And as I weep myself to sleep tonight
I'll remember only the good memories of you.
Because those are the memories I want to keep
because they're of the real you.
