Mending the Broken

These next few years will be tough,
especially for you and I.
Our relationship is pretty rough
and to mend it, we both must try.

The wounds are deep inside my heart
because of the knife you left there.
The bridge holding us together has fallen apart,
but I don't think you really care.

I cannot be the only one trying my best
to mend what you have broken.
You sit aside, at peace and at rest
because my misery is your token.

I still love you, way deep down
but even my love can't hold
the weight of your lies as I drown
in your deep, unending hole.
