Mercy

My thoughts they wreak within a dismal bliss.
My breath it savors wickedness.
My heart speaks battered thumps of unheard cries.
My hands ache, gnarled, holding dismembered lies.

I find no solace as a sleep,
as demons dwell in my damned dreams.
When morning comes I shall fall to my knees,
for fear that my darkest night is yet to be.
