Metal Birds

"Where were you on September 11th
when the metal birds hit the twin towers?"
"Sitting in my first grade classroom
Watching the news on TV for hours."

"The room grew so still
never was the sound of silence so loud
every news channels headline news
the smoke that bellowed up to a cloud."

"Where were you on September 11th
when the metal birds hit the twin towers?"
"Standing by my office door
all of the ceilings began to fall like hot showers."

"Breathing was impossible with ash in my lungs
smoke filled the room and made it hard to see
what was once my office was now a furnace
in the back of my mind I was sure it was the start of world war 3."

"The stars and stripes have flown
the metal birds have ran their last flight
taking the lives of many, until revenge is served
America and its president will have no sleep tonight."
