Metal box around my brain

The metal box around my brain has a name
It differs from a wall in a way
Mine is all around and put in place
I did not build it, I don’t think
The metal box around my brain
It’s pitch black and I sit in it
It swallows me completely, holds me down, and drowns me
The black is fear
Made of words like disappointment, disgrace, and, imperfect
Are the ones that keep me in
The metal box around my brain
There is no door so she made one
She broke a hole in the metal with love and care
Although it is still not enough to let me out
It lets light in, pushing the black and fear in the corners
I can see through the hole, the world becomes less frightening
That is the metal box around my brian
