Time crawling by,
Incremental infinity.
Swathed by a hard exterior
I spat into existence.
My shield hums,
Deteriorating as the winds shift,
Scattering crackling leaves.
A shaky emergence
On spindle legs,
I flutter in a sun
I shrouded from.
Hope is the powder coating
Painting my wings,
Whispering a beat
As I immerse in the sky.
Dancing among the clouds,
A dash of blue and yellow
Blinds me,
And I flitter forth.
Your eyes I remember,
Despite your new exterior.
We swirl together,
A vortex of pigment.
We don’t look back.
