Midnight Misadventures

'Twas hidden by the dark of that midnight
The youthful friends found new forbidden love
The secret lovers laughed with joy so bright
Their shadows sheltered by the moon above

Could it be love they truly felt so long
The countless midnights laughing together
Were others right to say their love was wrong
For when day came, there were storms to whether

Forbidden love cannot be love so true
For in the day it will never survive
While secretly their love was shining through
Soon as t'was tested, love just could not thrive

Love can't be love if love must be hidden
That's why some love is better forbidden
