Mike Brown

Every corner I turn I see the lights red white blue
I was once told in America it meant freedom things in this
life are never free
Every step I take
I could be another
Mike Brown
All I ever wanted to do was
Write poetry, think about good times, and spend time with my family
Walking down the street with no problem
Such weapons like guns, knives
I never had to carry those
But now we live in a world where
I might just have to carry a razor blade to protect myself
I will not be another
Dead body
Gone young adult
Fighting for my life
I will not be
Your victim
