Mirror
Struggles with division
Aggressive like a sea
Faultered like his vision
And why he wants to be nothing
As if nothing was free
Absent His provision
And foreign to His sovereign plan
Emphasize what’s lacking
Consecrate the metaphor
Annihilate derision
Tell Him what is at the core, forgetting all the lacking
To know just what you’re dying for
Violence in collision, bringing dark to open shame
Absent this abstraction, realize the metaphor
Compliance my decision, life from death and guilt and shame
Focus on the traction, to call upon HIS blessed name.
I am broken but more, when I’m broke and You’re more
In a mirror I am broken but Your’s
In Your image, may I be the image, in a mirror.
Aggressive like a sea
Faultered like his vision
And why he wants to be nothing
As if nothing was free
Absent His provision
And foreign to His sovereign plan
Emphasize what’s lacking
Consecrate the metaphor
Annihilate derision
Tell Him what is at the core, forgetting all the lacking
To know just what you’re dying for
Violence in collision, bringing dark to open shame
Absent this abstraction, realize the metaphor
Compliance my decision, life from death and guilt and shame
Focus on the traction, to call upon HIS blessed name.
I am broken but more, when I’m broke and You’re more
In a mirror I am broken but Your’s
In Your image, may I be the image, in a mirror.

Paul said it best of the inner struggle to serve and love God contrast with the desires and drawing of our own fallen nature to serve and love self. Romans 7:24-26 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
