I see a little girl crying
The tears streaming down her cheeks
Told a story
That no one would understand
Not me not you
Don't cry, I say, It will be okay
But the truth is, I didn't know
How true that was-is it really going to be okay?
So, what do you do?
What do you do when a little girl is breaking down in front of you
But the greater question is
What do you do when that little girl is you?
And you realize your heart's breaking
Because you are
In fact looking in a mirror
Looks can be deceiving
But your reflection
Tells a different story: no
You're not okay; no
You're not gonna pretend
To be something
I'm not.
