Mirror Myself & I

I look around me, and what do I see?
Shadows, everywhere - thin, dark, they barely cling to substance.
Once, when in innocence, they were reflections;
Small, indeed, inadequate, but transparent nevertheless, and clear!
Oh, so clear!
They raised me to the One Who Is.
Now, alas, they draw me to themselves,
Enfolding me in their hollow darkness -
They make me forget
And lose my way.
I reach in, crying for help; I need to see!
Of a sudden, a mirror appears, and my reflection is there.
I see the shadows wrapping me round like clothing -
Draping me in false royalty.
I try to undress but they hold me fast.
Then, at last, I remember - there is but one way, one freedom.
I look within -
To reflect the One Mirror...
Ha ha ha!
The shadows flee like Legion!
