Mischievous Moon

Moonlight glimmers casting shadows in all directions
Young lovers' quarrels draw to crescendo
The time is now if it was ever to break the spell
Or return to quiet rooms of mischievous thought
Crisscrossing love with passion
We tie ourselves in knots
Hoping to never be unbound
Our hearts touch and beat in unison
And kings don't dance with queens
The way I danced with you on golden shores
Leave your scent on my rose
As you strip it of the thorns
Gaze up from our shadows
The stars shall guide us home
Lovers' hands unclasp as a new day dawns
Drawn in by the grasp of waiting mothers' arms
