Misery Unfurls

They tried to ask her how she felt,

As loneliness took place.

The rotten deal that she’d been dealt

Like a slap to the face

Numb from the inside out,

She let herself go through the motions.

At the world, she wanted to shout,

Sending her through a frenzy of emotions.

Sob, scream, wail, repeat

The fulfilling life she had once led

Has thrown her oh, so cruelly offbeat

A lonely cemetery dead ahead

The heart and soul that beautifully once was

Fled like prey, constantly haunted

The anger comes like the tides of the season

Her surrounding air, not composed, but demented.
