To the narrow and vapid
he left a compounded impression of depravity and reticence
the worn leather motorcycle boots his father donned before him
and the smokey trails that enveloped his tousled locks
condemned him to a predetermined fate by societal ignorance
I too was susceptible to their misguided mendacity

But when his ethereal blues bore into me
transcending me beyond the order of the universe
I succumbed to his silver tongue that stripped his identity
to its naked form as a celestial being
he soon became as intangible as the distant lights in the sky and
akin to the smoke he left behind, he had been carried off by the wind
