MISSING

My friend got lost some time ago.
I called out his name in hopes he would show.
But when I screamed for him I seemed to drown.
All to be heard were the echoes of my sound.

I know he must be out there, so cold and so bare,
Wandering the night, searching for sun within the air.
Resilient, i know, he will push through the night
I just hope that soon he comes back to my sight.

I leave the light on just in case
He discovers this home to be his new place.
