The haunting mist
Engulfs the hill
Bringing with it
Unearthly chill
Shiver, shiver
Go the trees
Dreaming of summer
And flowers and bees
This dreadful mist
Shall it ever lift?
Alone in its midst
I am lost, and adrift
This dreadful mist
Forgetfulness wreaks
But sometimes, in haziness
The truth might just speak
For as you’re enveloped
In deep mist obscure
You might grasp, and discover
Things you hadn’t before
So step into the mist
With wonder, not fear
And know that bright clarity
Might be very near.
