Mistakes of the Past

Looking back upon my past,
I used to think it went too fast,
but hidden in that sea of fun,
my life had really just begun.

I used to be so inconsiderate,
other's feelings, for me illiterate,
all that I could see was joy,
never thinking who I'd annoy.

Now that I have witnessed pain,
I knew how much I have to gain,
I see the remnants of my past,
and now I know why they can't last.

It's time to make apologies,
I need to drop my fantasies,
the ones I hurt, and left forever,
I must repair the hearts I sever.
