Modern Day Me
God bless American home of the braveI thank God everyday I am a man not a slave
And since I am free I have the right to say
They treat us with no respect
Lie and say they will protect
What is a real arrest
We should all protest
To get what is right
To prevent injustice in the the night
These officers, they're making false convictions
And every minority fits their descriptions
This message is not subliminal
No one wants to be labeled as a criminal
Especially when you didn't do it
What rationalization could you see fit
To punish an innocent man
With not evidence in your hand
Handcuffs become boa constrictors
Their badges become elixirs
For harassing the people
It makes me feel so feeble
One day we'll get it together
I just hope it doesn't take forever
