Moments

My ears caught between a storm of words and a storm of metal
My eyes see the Devils work in full play
My hands touch the land that at one time I could call home
My taste and smell vanish from this world
The storms start to settle
The Devils work comes to an end for the day
The land no longer a virgin to suffering
The fire that I once had is now gone
I lay here knowing judgement will soon pass over me
I lay here knowing that time has slowed down for me
I lay here with many promises shattering around me
I lay here with peace finally resting its wings on me
