Mommy

I prayed to God to please don't let me lose you, because without you... I wouldn't know what to do. You left behind a broken soul, to which this heart used to be whole. I fake the smile and hold back the tears, remembering the memories we had over the years. You went to heaven too soon, too fast.. glad that your pain will no longer last. My mommy was my very best friend, our days were cut short, but my love will never end. The only thing that will heal the tears and pain, will be the day that I get to see you again.

This Poems Story

I lost my mom when I was nine, in 2013. It's been really hard for me especially since now that I am more mature and noticing more things. I talked to my favorite teacher at school about her because most days I felt like crying and he encouraged me to write poems about her. So for the rest of my eighth-grade year, I wrote poems like crazy. Now I want to do more. So thank you anonymous. (not sharing name for privacy)
