Mom’s Holding Her Sugar

By TJ

Dad knows dinner is always good

But I know why it's good

It's savory and no longer sweet

Because mom's holding her sugar

She says she wants to try new things

That her palate has changed

In a way she's honest

But I know she's saving it for another taste test

One outside of our kitchen

And at the one next door
