Monsters Aren’t Always Nice

You run through my mind
Like the shadows on my wall
Voices hum… like mama birds morning call
Lyrics reminding me only of you
Before it all began to crumble and fall
The freckles on your nose shine in the daylight
As the stars stars gracefully brighten my nights
You freeze, like our feet
Dangling from the blanket
With a touch of the autumn night
Your heart goes numb
In all but fright
Watching the monster viciously pull and finally bite
You always seemed to be easy prey
To all the easy ways to ease the pain
But now you started fading away
Filled with shame
Suddenly lost, fully obtained
Always trapped but now all in the monsters favorite game
