Moon in the Sky

Twinkling stars light up the sky
shining and dancing, so beautiful I sigh

A soft breeze, drifting, sweet and quiet
calming everything in it's path, stopping all riot

crickets chirp a beautiful song,
If you look closely, a butterfly is flying along

everything is still,
no one dares to speak.

Then suddenly, breaking the silence,
their is a gentle weep.

It is the moon, up above, crying with joy,
everybody looks up, watching her enjoy

pale white moon up in the night
The moon starts to sing a wonderful song,

of wonder and magic and everything among
like a silver halo, beaming with light.

Just like that, the tension was broken.
It was like a miracle had just spoken

We dance, and leap, and jump, and twirl,
And the moon sings her song, like a beautiful pearl

This Poems Story

The night sky always dazzled me. It always reminded me of sequins stitched so magically together. From the Little Mermaids sweet sequin wedding dress, to Katniss Everdeen's "fiery" red interview dress, the night sky brought me to different worlds, especially the moon, which reminded me of a pearl that ties the outfit together so well. I tried to express this in my poem.
