I want to sleep on the moon tonight
So I'll gather my pennies and catch the next flight
We'll stop in Michigan and Timbuktu
Before all of the nighttime hullabaloo.
We will jump from star to star
No matter the time, no matter how far
We'll sparkle and glow how the stars do each night
People will say we're quite a sight.
We'll slide down shooting stars without a care
While our Mom and Dad look up and stare
Watching in awe from so far away
As we frolic and laugh and giggle and play.
Finally the moon will be close enough to touch
And then we'll have what we wanted so much
A moon to sleep on, bright and white
As we sleep with a smile all through the night.
