Moonlight

In the hour of the night when the moonlight glows
And the stars come out to see their souls,
I saw a black crow slowly fluttering in the snow

It had broken its wing and could not fly
And I stood before it, petrified
Of what I saw take place before my eyes

Transformed from a crow to a naked man
Huddled in the snow with a reaching hand
With his stony grip, I drew him up to stand

As the somber shadows faded from his face
Icy tears left my eyes with windswept grace

On that frozen ground, I had found myself
Suddenly alone to walk the snowy road of life
