The moon is out only for us tonight,
illuminating blue-green grass beneath
the softest glow, and throwing specks of light
across water that moves as if it breathes.
This place is ours, as is this night, so take
my hand and wish away the world we're from.
Just listen to the trees, the songs they make
that float around your head until you're numb.
For now, just be with me and without time.
The sun will never rise and we can stay
in our own world of the misty sublime
as long as trees and wind will sing and sway.
Promise you'll stay forever here with me,
and in my moonlit dreams you'll always be.
