Moonlit

You taught me how to see the light in people,
You told me what was illegal,
I followed your ways,
But that was just a prequel,

Now all we do is fight,
We constantly collide,
We are full of spite,
It is sad how our lives were so fickle,

I am a neophyte in life,
I almost took up the knife,
I know exactly where the mistake was made,
But you made me mute with pain,

It was moonlit,
The path on which we walked,
So as our love would have it,
The path was deadlocked.
