Moonsong

I will sing your name, moonsong

girl with lips of the crescent moon

anchored into the vast blue sky

I will sing your name, moonsong

lyric of the viola, symphonies dawn

upon euphoric hearts, sweetness

lingering yet as the last sound of strings

reverberating, music of lovers

wanting more, staying longer

locked in silhouetted embrace

the new moon watching us kiss

song of new wine; toxic sweetness.

song of stars retiring tonight

I will sing you the moon\'s song

as a deity to the goddess of

beauty. You are my blessing and now

I have become the sand at the shores of

the Atlantic — waiting for the riverbird

This Poems Story

I imagined dating a girl named moonsong. Korean or Chinese. I imagined reading poetry to her, and then I wrote this. Somehow, I have it in mind to name my first daughter Moonsong. Smiles. The picture is my nephew, Audrey. She looks Korean. I decided to feature her here.
