By Ella Yu

In the morning, the sun seeps through
the trees and lights up the world,
the dewdrops on a spider's web sparkle
like diamonds

the owls hoot their last hoot and fly
swiftly through the trees,
the raccoons slip
into the bushes, hidden

the chipmunks peep out of their holes,
nibble on nuts, and scamper into bushes,
the birds twitter and flutter through the sky
a moving musical rainbow

the clouds against a light blue sky
like the sweet and fluffy cotton candy
that children love to eat

the wind is music,
the trees dance,
the clouds part, the sun
flickers over the horizon
