Morning Minutes

Sweet sleep
awakened by radiant, spring light
Beseeched the Creator,
requested unbounded insight
to place a cutting edge
against life's daily strife,
to invigorate the soul
for another day in this life.
Blends of lavender mist, scented oils, creamed lips,
smooth, rhythmic intonations,
tangerine silk on ocher glow-
affirmed esteem and motivation.
Prepared the morning meal:
tea with lemon to sip.
Absorbed the view near a window,
spring florets and one purple violet.
Refreshed by this delightful sight
among the floral beauties-
honeysuckle rooted, rising, redolent
affecting a euphoric serenity.
Gave thanks to the Creator
for the peaceful minutes of morning-
for the nutriment,
fragrant blossoms,
cozy warmth,
spring breeze,
birds singing.
