Mother

She is the one who gave life,
The one who overcame trials, hurt and betrayal.
No one can outdo her for she is Mother.
She is the captain of the ship,
As well as our anchor when storms arise.
The light for which guides us when we are lost.
My best friend, my mentor and my cheerleader
She is my Mother.
God has called her home to live in peace,
She no longer suffers but lives on in happiness.
There will be many duplicates but none better than the
Original, for she is Mother.
Our lonely ship floats on the sea of life,
Pathetic and dark; in fears of falling apart.
Then a bright star appears, brighter than the moon.
What could cause a star to shine so?
That star is Mother.
Continuing to guide us in our loss, shining light
On a dark world without her.
Even without a physical body, her warmth is felt.
For she is Mother.
As tears fall like rain, heart continues to break,
She is there; holding her arms open for me.
As I run to her, she starts to disappear into the sky.
Have no worry now, for I will always be your Mother.
