Mother

Teen Love
By Maria Longoria

I saw you yesterday
In the hall of our school
I wanted to say “Stop, stay"
But I didn’t want to feel a fool
In the classroom I don’t stare
For I spent my time in a daydream
Me, touching your hair
Thinking of your smile, oh how you beam
You and your friends talk and laugh
Oh how your laughter makes the world chime
I’ll send you a joke in my behalf
Maybe it will help make you mine
Oh, life in high school it’s so cruel
Good thing for next year to try all over again
