Mother and Daughter

Nothing is perfect, I whispered to her
As she lay down to sleep.
Nobody is perfect, I whispered to her
As she counted her sheep.
No one is perfect, I whispered to her
As she dreamed her little girl dreams.
No one but you, I whispered to her
Your head, your arms, your feet.
You are perfect to your mother my daughter.
You are, I whispered, perfect to me.
