In my mind's eye I envision her,
a calliope of colors and warmth,
radiating upwards when I touch the ground,
when I lay upon Mother Earth.
She holds me fast to her breast
while showing me my own way.
I catch my breath and listen,
to the calming interplay
of bird calls and breezes and insect grievances
as they scatter when I turn to my side
to catch sight of a squirrel who lands in a whirl
of chattering fur from up high.
All nature abounds from my vantage point,
I don't wish for the day to end.
The love in my heart for the Mother of all
is a love that will always transcend.
